Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Remigo electric outboard motors.
What kind of boats can RemigoOne power?
RemigoOne is designed for tenders, inflatables and sailboats up to around 25 ft or 1.5 tonnes. It replaces a traditional 3 HP gas outboard for short-range propulsion, docking, and dinghy runs.
How long does the battery last in real use?
At full speed you can expect roughly 1 hour of runtime and around 5 nautical miles of range. At a cruising speed of around 3 knots, that increases to roughly 4 hours and about 14 nautical miles. In economy mode at about 2 knots, you can see up to 10–15 hours and as much as 30 nautical miles in ideal conditions. Actual performance will vary with boat type, load, wind and waves.
Is RemigoOne suitable for saltwater?
How do I charge RemigoOne?
What maintenance does it need?
How much does it weigh and how easy is it to carry?
The outboard itself weighs 26 lbs, or roughly 32 lbs including the bracket. The handle and slim profile make it easy to carry close to your body when stepping off a mothership or dock.
What is the warranty?
RemigoOne comes with a 2-year limited warranty covering manufacturing and material defects. Warranty handling is done locally through Remigo USA.
Can I upgrade to RemigoOne Neo later?
What kind of boats can RemigoOne Neo power?
RemigoOne Neo is designed for tenders, dinghies, and sailboats up to around 25 ft or roughly 1.5 tons. It replaces a traditional 3–4 HP gas outboard for short- to medium-range propulsion, docking, and day-to-day dinghy runs.
How do I choose between RemigoOne and RemigoOne Neo?
Choose RemigoOne if light weight and simplicity are your top priorities and you run a smaller tender or short-range missions. Choose RemigoOne Neo if you want more thrust, plan to carry more people and gear, run in chop or current more often, or simply want the most capable all-in-one electric outboard Remigo makes.
Can I charge the outboard while running it?
Yes! RemigoOne can run while being charged by any one of our chargers (standard, fast, DC-DC, solar).
Can I run while charging with solar panels?
Yes, you can charge the battery with solar panels while driving. However, currently max. solar charging power is limited to 400W.
Can I charge from existing panels onboard?
Yes—as long as your solar panel setup meets the following criteria:
- Output voltage must be between 20 V and 40 V.
- Panels must be connected in series.
- The charger has standard MC4 connectors, compatible with most solar panels.
The Remigo Solar Charger can handle up to 150 W of input power. If your panel setup produces more, that’s perfectly fine—the charger will simply limit the charging speed to 150 W.
For optimal performance, we recommend using a panel rated around 400 W. This ensures full charging speed even in less-than-perfect weather conditions (e.g. light cloud cover).
Why is 1kW e-outboard equivalent to 3 HP and not 1.34 HP?
Electric outboards reach higher torque at lower speeds and higher overall efficiency as compared to ICE (internal combustion engines). Generally the HP numbers in spec sheets of ICE motors refer to the power of the motor. While what actually matters is the power on the prop. With electric motors significantly more of the input power gets to the prop compared to ICE propulsion.. Consequently, a 1kW outboard (if done right ) is able to produce comparable thrust as a 3HP gasoline outboard.
What is the autonomy of this outboard?
Generally, you have 1h at the maximum speed of 5 kts, 3h/15 NM at cruising speed of 3 kts, and 30 NM at 2 kts, although it depends on many factors. Main ones that will determine your range are boat size and weight, drag, wind and waves.
Why is hydrogeneration not implemented
Actually the motors do generate power when the prop is spun. However with the current version the propeller isn’t optimized for this use case and the power output is very low. Currently solar charging is a much more viable solution.
Can you use it as an emergency rudder in case of a rudder fail?
Yes, in case of a rudder failure, you can use Remigo as an emergency steering rudder.
What is the difference between electric outboard and a trolling motor?
At the same power rating (1kW) those two won’t reach the same thrust and speed, because they are optimised for different uses. Trolling motors are intended for fishing – quiet operation, slow, precise movement at very low speeds (hence no sound) in calm, shallow waters, only short bursts of operation. Electric outboards are built for forward propulsion and higher thrust and speed over distance, serving as the main propulsion system for small boats. Those can be used on a calm lake or on moderate waves out in the open.
What are the main differences when compared to your competitors?
Main differences are: all-aluminum body instead of plastic housing, integrated battery and cables, so the vitals are safely sealed inside (it is possible to change the battery at our services after it loses capacity, otherwise the pack is rated for 1000 cycles), robust connectors and pins, the outboard is detachable from the bracket, fully portable, easier to handle, and it is the lightest on the market among 1kWs – 12 kg, 14.5kg with the bracket. You have all the shaft lengths in one model, so you don’t need to change the outboard when changing the vessel.
Can you plug in an external battery?
At the moment there is no dedicated external battery for the RemigoOne (we are working on it!). However, RemigoOne can be charged while it is running. All chargers that we offer (standard, fast, DCDC and solar) can be used to top up the charge even during operation. While it can not be charged as fast as it discharges when running at top speed, it can run at around 50% speed indefinitely while using the fast charger. Remember, we also offer extension cables for the chargers so they can be safely stored away in the cabin while the remigo is charging on the transom.

Warranty
At Remigo, we are committed to providing high-quality products. That’s why we offer a warranty to the final purchaser of the RemigoOne outboard motor, ensuring that the product is free from material and manufacturing defects. We are here to help if any issues arise. Please review the following warranty terms to understand what is covered, what isn’t, and how to make a claim.
The Warranty Covers the Following:
Remigo, d.o.o., registered in Stanežiče 27e, 1210 Ljubljana Šentvid, Slovenia, guarantees that the RemigoOne outboard motor will be free from material and manufacturing defects for two years from the date of delivery to the final purchaser. If a defect is found, we will cover the cost of repair for the fault. However, this does not include any additional costs related to the claim, such as towing, telecommunications, accommodation, or loss of income.
Please note that products used commercially or by public authorities are not covered by this two-year warranty. In those cases, only the statutory warranty applies. Warranty claims must be made within six months of discovering a defect.
If a defect occurs, we will decide whether to repair or replace the faulty parts. Please be aware that distributors and dealers authorized to repair Remigo motors cannot make legally binding decisions on our behalf. Also, normal wear and tear and routine servicing are not covered by this warranty.
We reserve the right to reject a warranty claim if:
– The warranty claim was not submitted correctly (see How to Make a Claim below).
– The product was not used according to the instructions provided in the User Manual.
– The safety, operating, and care instructions were not followed.
– The product was altered or modified in any way, or if non-Remigo-approved parts or accessories were used.
– Previous repairs or services were carried out by unauthorized firms, or non-original parts were used (unless it can be proven that these factors did not contribute to the fault).
In addition to this warranty, you also have legal rights under your purchase contract with the dealer, which are unaffected by this warranty.
How to Make a Claim:
To ensure that your warranty claim is handled smoothly, please follow this process:
- Contact Us: Before sending any potentially faulty products, you must first contact us by phone, email, or post. Our contact details are available in the user manual and on the webpage. We cannot process products that have been sent to us without prior notification and will refuse such deliveries.
